EZVIZ battery cameras remove the main constraint of traditional video surveillance: wiring.
With no cables and no electrician, you mount the camera exactly where you need it — on a wall corner, a post, a garden shed — with a rated battery life of 210 to 365 days depending on the model (measured in the lab), which can be extended with a separately sold EZVIZ solar panel.

Use Cases: Where to Install an EZVIZ Battery Camera
EZVIZ solar panel — fewer recharges
Paired with a compatible solar panel, the camera no longer has to be taken down for recharging as long as sunlight is sufficient. Keep an eye on the battery level in the app, especially in winter.
Gate and property entrance
The property entrance is often too far from the electrical panel for affordable wiring. A battery camera installs right there, with several months of battery life between charges.
Garden shed and outbuildings
These spaces are targets for tool and equipment theft. Mounted under the roof of the shed, the camera watches the surroundings without any electrical connection, and motion detection alerts you to suspicious approaches.

How long does an EZVIZ camera battery last?
According to the manufacturer datasheets: up to 210 days for the BC1C (7,800 mAh), 270 days for the BC1C 4MP (10,400 mAh) and 365 days for the BC1-B2 2K+ (12,900 mAh). These figures assume about 5 minutes of use per day.
In practice, battery life depends mainly on the number of daily detections. With a compatible solar panel, it can become very long if sunlight is sufficient.
Can I use an EZVIZ battery camera indoors?
Yes. Even though these cameras are designed for outdoor use, nothing prevents you from using them indoors: it is handy if you move the camera often or have no power outlet nearby.
Does the camera record continuously or on detection?
To preserve the battery, these cameras record on motion detection (PIR sensor), with human-shape recognition on recent models.
Continuous recording drains the battery much faster: that is why the EB8 Pro 4G is sold as a kit with a solar panel.
Does cold weather harm the battery of EZVIZ cameras?

Do EZVIZ battery cameras connect to standard Wi-Fi?
Yes, on a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (IEEE 802.11b/g/n). The EB8 Pro 4G also has a 4G connection, which it switches to automatically when Wi-Fi is weak or unavailable.
If the router is too far away, move it closer or add a repeater: an unstable connection multiplies reconnections and drains the battery.
What is the difference between IP65 and IP66 for an outdoor camera?
The first digit (6) means total protection against dust. The second measures water: 5 = low-pressure water jets (rain, hosing), 6 = powerful jets. IP67 goes further with temporary immersion up to 1 m.
The BC1C and the BC1-B2 kit are rated IP66, suitable for rain and water jets; for the EB8 Pro 4G, the rating is not published on its listing.
How do I recharge an EZVIZ battery camera?
With the cable supplied, plugged directly into the camera, or automatically with a compatible solar panel. To avoid climbing a ladder regularly, pick an accessible mounting spot or use the solar panel.

Why is real battery life shorter than the rated figure?
Manufacturer figures are measured in the lab with about 5 minutes of activity per day. A busy garden, a street passing by or animals multiply detections and drain the battery faster.
Weak Wi-Fi, high resolution, long clips and cold also reduce battery life. The EZVIZ app lets you tune sensitivity and clip length to find the right balance.
